Hospice Live Discharge Study
Help us understand the impacts of live discharge from hospice on patients with Alzheimer’s Disease Dementia and their caregivers.
what is a live discharge?
A live discharge is when a person is disqualified from hospice because they are no longer eligible for their services. This may be due to a change in prognosis, where the person is considered no longer “terminally ill”.
As a caregiver you may be eligible to join our study if your family member has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease Dementia and one of the following is true:
- They are eligible for hospice but not yet enrolled. A person is eligible for hospice when their physician determines that they have a life expectancy of 6 months or less.
- They are currently enrolled in hospice.
- They have been discharged from hospice within the past 6 months.
- They have been discharged from hospice and re-enrolled.
If you are interested in joining our study, please contact us by email at hospicelivedischarge@gmail.com for more information.
A member of our team will contact you to schedule an interview based on a time convenient for you.
Interviews can be done via telephone or in-person. In-person interviews can be done in the comfort of your own home or at our clinic. We will collect information related to your family member’s health, your caregiver’s relationship and role, and your experiences with hospice.
